m505 and AIM

I just recently bought a m505.. its getting me organized but I really want to connect it to AIM. I bought the cable to connect it to my cell phone and I can't connect still. My friend had his m505 hooked up to AIM but I can't get in touch with him for help. What am I doing wrong?

Most likely you need to set up the correct connection in the Prefs Connection dialog. You need to know whether you have a GSM phone, or what your phone type actually is. Make sure you are dialed into your ISP. I don't know the details of that, so you will need to contact your ISP for that. I'm not exactly a genius when it comes to connecting a Palm to the internet, but maybe someone else is. Read the Palm manual also. It may give some tips. Hope you get it worked out!
