Help!!! After a computer crisis, the 12 year-old down the street upgraded my OS to Windows XP. I reloaded all necessary software but can no longer hotsync with Microsoft Outlook. The log says the operation is successful, but there are no addresses on my Palm to prove it! This is making me crazy - expecially since I really only use my Palm as a glorified address book.

In the very near future, I will also want to be able to hotsync with the calendar - and I don't even care if it's the Palm Desktop or Outlook! I just want to be able to back up my data.

Seems one of the issues is the "user" name - my Palm shows my whole name, while Outlook uses only my first name....does that matter? All help, in the most simple step-by-step language, would be so very appreciated!

Please help before this adult returns to school this fall (for the first time in 20 years)!

This could be just as simple as reisntalling "Pocketmirror" off the Palm desktop install cd . -

as you said the log says all complete which means the sync is going to Palm desktop . -

easy way to check . -
click on the hotsync manager (HSM) down by the time in your system tray should be red and blue -
when that window opens click on "custom"

it will give you a list of "conduits" and in your case it should read
address
datebook
memo
etc .

if it reads that close out of everything that was open . -
insert your palm desktop cd in to the cd rom . -
wait for the "autorun" to open - then close it down -

now double click on "my computer"
your cd rom should be labled "Palm desktop"
right click
left lick on "explore"

it should open another window with about 5 or 6 folders
one should be "Palm desktop"
open that
then you should see a pocketmirror folder, open that one and you should see a setup.exe file . -- if you can't see the extensions look for a file that looks likes a computer with some files/folders beside it . -- double click on that one and go thru the install . -
and it should be easy from there

anything else just re-post
