Specifically the MODEL CM541
otherwise any other ideas about mounts? I don't like the Garmin bean bag thing. It won't work well in my car.
Thanks!

I'm also looking for an alternative mount for auto navigation. I have a dash cover in my convertible, so the bean bag probably won't work well. Also, I need the external speaker's volume to be loud enough to hear over wind noise and what-not.
Not sure if this well help you, but apparently the connector on the bottom is the Palm Universal Connector. I think that Garmin is the only company other than Palm to use it. The question will be the power. There is a separate power jack from the UC on the IQue that does not appear on standard palm devices.
Try looking at these links:

and

I don't have links for the backs, but they also share the mount connectors.
I think it might work...

Is there something undesirable with the iQue auto navigation accessory that I should know about?

I don't think anyone is saying its undesireable. For some the friction mount just isn't enough. If you have a steep or close to the windshield dash, it may not work out. Also, alot of peeps in the "hot" states have dash covers (sort of a floor mat for your dash). Things can slide easy on that. And we all want to protect our IQues (when we get them!) don't we... ;)

Thanks. I thought it might be something like that.
The only reason i haven't orderd yet is because I'm waiting for feed back from Mac users verifiying that Virtual PC and MapSource will work for downloading maps.
I'm able to do this function with VPC and my Street Pilot (not the USB programer) and am hoping for the same success.
I'm getting kind of anxious and probably will order no matter what and worry about these problems later. :-)

First, I must say, I personally liked the beanbag mount on my Street Pilot lll, and found it to be extremely "tacky" on the bottom and secure. I still plan on using it in two of my cars, while using the permanent sticky mount on a couple of older ones.
Next, Mrk, you got the street pilot working well with your Mac? goodness, you must have a lot of patience! I got it working myself, but the length of time to download several states and regions was just too much via serial and adapter for me. Waypoints and POI's were fine, but....gawd, the large files just took way too long for me.
Be assured, when mine comes in, thats the FIRST thing I am going to test.

It's a good thing i have to go to bed sometime. If I want to download maps to my StreetPilot, I set it to download, and by the time i get up in the morning, the job is done.
That's why I bought the USB Programer. Too bad it doesn't work with VPC and OSX.
