Restoring data on a new PPC

This question must have come up before and to prevent me sounding like an idiot ive spent 3 hours looking for the answer. So yeah i totaly surrender.

Is it possible to restore data from an old ipaq to a new ipaq. For example a ipaq 5450 to a 5550. Hopfully without the need of any extra software i need to shell out for.

For data such as contacts and calendar,all you need to do is sync your old ipaq to the desktop, your desktop's outlook should now have the same information as you pocketpc, then sync your new ipaq to the desktop and create a partnership, you should have all the data in your new ipaq.
For applications, after you sync the new ipaq go into activesync's add/remove programs and check all the programs you want to reinstall, click ok, activesync will install them all at once.
