recovering a file after reset

I recently did a hard reset of my Ipaq 3835. I still have the pre-reset backup file on my PC.

There was a file on the PPC before the reset that I forgot to save on my PC when I did the reset. The file was completely unrelated to the problems that led me to do the reset.

Is there any way to obtain a copy of that file without going through the ordeal of restoring the backup to my PPC, copying the file to my PC, then another hard reset/restore?
