I'm a novice ppc 3950 owner and have downloaded MNYPPC03.EXE from Microsoft site to synch with Money 2002 on my PC. I am having difficulty installing on ppc. Do I execute the file on pc and then transfer to ppc or transfer the executable file to ppc and instal from there. Might seem a silly question but I am a novice learning from mistakes. Would appreciate some step by step guidelines to find the error of my ways. Thanks in advance.:confused:

From MS site:

To install an .exe file:

Connect your Pocket PC to your computer and be sure that ActiveSync opens.

Click on the .exe on your desktop and it should launch an installer.

Follow the steps in the installer wizard (if there are any).

If your Pocket PC is connected, an Add/Remove Programs window should open up on top of the ActiveSync window. If it this window doesn't open, go to Tools > Add/Remove Programs... and check the box next to any applications you'd like to install.

In the dialog box, uncheck "Install program into the default installation folder" if you want to install the application onto a memory card. Then choose the appropriate location from the next drop down menu.

After the application has been transferred to your Pocket PC, you will see a dialog asking you to check your device for further instructions.

In most cases you will not need to do anything on your Pocket PC, but check it just in case you need to reset or configure your device.

Many thanks answerdude ppcmoney 2003 installed but will not synch with pc money 2002. When installing ppcmoney a message indicating that money could not be found on pc. How do I get ppc to recognise valid money 2002 program and files i wish to synch. Money 2002 is installed on c: drive whilst all money data files are stored on d: drive, could this be a problem?? I would appreciate some options on how to advance.:rolleyes:

Did you install Pocket Money 2003 in the Main memory? I think Pocket Money does not behave well if you install it in the storage card. Another thing to try is if you are using Money 2002 on your desktop, I think you should also use Pocket Money 2002 on your ipaq. The installer is on the same download page.

Thanks for response answerdude. I checked the web site and obtained the following extract.
Note: Money 2003 for the Pocket PC requires the Pocket PC 2002 operating system. If you're running an earlier version, you must upgrade in order to use Money for the Pocket PC. Check with the manufacturer of your device for information on upgrades.
It would appear that it should be able to synch with my pc/ppc configuration. I have tried reinstalling etc but can get no response from synch. I upgraded synch from 3.5 to 3.7 without any results. Although Moneyy ppc is installed on 3590 it does not appear in mobile device screen on synch control....is this a clue??? Thanks for your input it is greatly appreciated.:(

Again, I don't think desktop Money 2002 works with pocket Money 2003. That paragraph is about upgrading OS on the pda to pocketpc2002 which your ipaq already have, the "earlier version" meant earlier version of pocketpc not earlier version of Money. So your choice to try are upgrade your desktop Money to 2003 or remove pocket money 2003 and install pocket money 2002. Read the next paragraph that starts with "For Microsoft Money 2002 users....", if pocket money 2003 works with desktop money 2002, i don't think MS would still need to provide those download links.

thanks again answerdude i was getting my pc's mixed up with my ppc's. i have as you suggested uninstalled moneyppc2003 from control panel however it still remains on ipaq 3950 how do i delete from the pda or do i just instal moneyppc2002 and overwrite?:confused:

I have an iPAQ 2215 where I tried to install the pocket money file without success. I also have Money 2003 deluxe on my desktop. When I tried to install Pocket money everything went fine until I looked at the Pocket PC screen and it said that it was for Pocket PC 2002.

I called HP and they said that Microsoft hasn't released a new version for the 2003 devices.
