The only two I've seen so far are

1) the standard compaq model (looks pretty bulky)

and

2)the "Silver Slider" (looks cool and thin)

Also, both should take the IBM microdrive right? Is that the same media interface as the compact flash?

Well if your asking for my opinion i would get the silver slider. And as long as the mirodrive you want is a type 1 or 2 compactflash compatible it will work.

Since you'll be using a microdrive, you may want to consider buying the CF Expansion Pack Plus (http://www.compaq.com/products/handhelds/pocketpc/options/expansion_packs.html) which incorporates together with the standard CF sleeve an external extra 1000mAh battery. It is actually a standard cover pack with a CF slot and the extra battery. A bit bulky if your taste lies with the Silver Slider, but trust me it does a great job with the power draining microdrive. You get a CF slot a batt and a hard case, all three in one.

Hello,

I currently use a Toshiba 2GB PCMCIA HDD with a PC Card Exapansion Pack. I was wondering, how does the speed of my setup compare to the compact flash microdrive?

I agree on the expansion pack plus. I have the PC card version and the extra battery option is fantastic.

if you want to go with the silver slider, check out ebay for really good prices, also check out this very forum, i saw a couple new models and variations made by that silver slider guy. Also check out Seidio.com. They have a variation of the silver slider...same color and craftmanship but two cf slots AND a power pack! what more could you ask for... a bit bulky but worth it's wait in gold.
