I've been in contact with the guy at PDAScreenProtectors.com about getting the G2 screen protector ready for our iQue.

Since I don't have mine yet, and won't for a while, I can't help him out getting the measurements. This is where I need some of your help. If you measure it and send him the info, he'll be able to send you a test protector to see how it fits.

For those of you who have never used these protectors, you are missing out. These are the best protectors out there. They don't distort the screen, and they don't leave a sticky residue, as they don't stick to your screen. I have been using one since the day I got my Clie, and the screen is still totally scratch free.

So for any of you that are interested, here is the information:

As you know, the G2 uses no adhesives and stays on by tucking under the
bezel.

We need some information in order to cut and send you a test sample.
You will need a metric ruler, a piece of plastic film (like a
photographic negative) and 5 minutes of your of time.

Here's the information we need to determine the size:

- Width and Height of opening of screen area (edge to edge):
- Amount of tuck-under* of top edge:
- Amount of tuck-under* of left edge:
- Amount of tuck-under* of right edge:
- Amount of tuck-under* of bottom edge:

*Simply tuck the film under the edge and measure how much went in.

Once we have these measurements, we will be able to send you a sample. We'll
also need a mailing address.

To e-mail him the measurements, e-mail him at: john<at>pdascreenprotectors<dot>com

(replace the <at> with @ and <dot> with .)

I'd appreciate it if any of you could help. If nothing else, you get a free protector out of it!

Anybody get in contact about getting the measurements on the iQue screen to this guy? If any of you that already have your iQue and aren't interested in a free protector, would you be willing to give me the measurements so I could get one? :D

The measurements I'm getting are 3mm on the right and left, and 4mm top and bottom. You can sctually push the film in further in some places, but the corners seem to be very tight.

Thanks for the info! What are your screen measurements from left to right and top to bottom? Are they the same as what is listed on the Garmin website?

I just got the Fellows for a Sony Clie 7 something. All it needs is to trim about 1 mm off the height, and it is a perfect fit. The local BestBuy had them for $ 9.99 after a $ 10 instant rebate.

Actually, I'm measuring 83mm x 56mm. This is from the edge of the casing where the glass starts.

Hey Tecman...

Is the Fellowes a non adhesive model? I'm a long time GPS user, but this will be my first "Palm", so naturally, I'll be looking for all I can do to protect it.

It is a tacky adhesive similar to the types that I have used on my palm and GPS76S. It is the WrightRight brand that is made for PDAs. The model is the Sony Clie NR70 type.

Thanks for the tip. I went out to BestBuy and picked up the WriteRights ($9.99 for 12) and trimmed off the top 1mm. It fits perfectly!

Thanks!

And let us know how does it fits and how hard the installation is, etc.. etc.. please...

I wrote John at pdascreenprotectors.com and the prototype is avail for sale but still a "prototype" for now but you wont see the Ique on his website until the final rev. He also told me if I place an order for the prototype, he will send me the final version for free as a replacement if there is any revision at all. To place an order for now, he told me to select "buy" on any pda and make sure on the COMMENT FIELD, place the word IQUE 3600 PDA.

Thank you in advance for whoever had the prototype G2 who would like to share their experience.

What a pain on that webpage. You have to go through the gyrations of selecting something and then pay whatever price comes up and hope you get the right thing? I've e-mailed John and asked him if we could just do this via e-mail, that process was making me crazy (ier). I hope I do get to share the experience!

Hello, new poster here. I got my iQue this week. Picked up the Belkin screen protector for the Sony NX80 series. Perfect fit. No trimming. Only two downsides are 1) it is the tacky kind abd 2) it's got a small "belkin.com" signage on the bottom that can block the battery and satellite icons.

Any word from John if we can order via email or when the final version would be ready ?

I placed my order on G2 last Sunday. It was shipped on monday and I'm hoping to get it by the end of the week. Its coming from Canada so I'm giving it a few days extra. I did place the order on their webpage and its not really user friendly for now. I paid for $13.95 for 2 plus s/h. I will post my comment after I have a chance to try them. I assumed the one he's sending me is not the final version yet. Btw on his email, he told me once the ique is officially on their webpage, that should be the final ver. and if the item I order is not the final ver., he will send me a replacemnt later on.

To place an order, pls chk my earlier post.
p.s. I don't work for him or make a commision for any referral i gave to him.. .. :-)))
