Using the SD slot and media for the e310

Can someone briefly explain how to transfer data from the computer to the Toshiba on to a SD card?
Is it necessary to have a media reader or can one synch files like MP3s, ebooks directly onto the SD Card?

when you install activesync it makes an alias for the pda. it is listed under mobile device in my computer. go into it then go into the second 'mobile device' then go to storage card and transfer the file(s). no need to have a sd/mmc writer but they do allow for a faster read/write.
