Hi everybody,
I need to update my Palm OS1 on the Palm Professional to Palm OS2 for some applications to run, that I've written for later Palm model. I checked the support pages of palm.com but they only have an update from 2.x to 2.7 ... if anybody could help, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Stefan.

The only way to upgrade that Pro is to find the original memory card (the Pilot 1000/5000 used OS 1, the Personal and Pro used OS 2 out of the box) or find an upgrade card. Those older devices didn't have Flash ROM. If your device has OS 1, the card is from a 1000 or 5000. The 1000 had 128K of RAM and the 5000 had 512K, and there was a 1MB OS 1.0 upgrade that would work in either.
The original Personal memory card had 512K of RAM and the Professional had 1MB; there was a Professional 1MB (OS 2)Upgrade card for the Personal also. If you're really lucky, you might run across the "Palm III" upgrade card, which worked in the Pilot 1000/5000/Palm Personal/Palm Pro and gave them OS 3 and infrared. All the 1000 and 5000 lacked was the backlight of the later devices.
I should add that TRG (later HandEra) had upgrade cards for those devices up to 8MB, if I remember right, but I don't think they came with infrared.
