I really like to know if does exist a way to transfer my waypoints from de computer to my ique. I'd woudl like to order it, but is so important to me get my waypoints in ique, I have many trips on my computes and i need to have those on my Ique.

MapSource can export waypoints in text format. I don't know though if the software that uploads data to iQue can read them and send to the device. In the worst case you'd have to type all coordinates manually on the iQue - again, I have no idea if entering new waypoints is possible, but this seems to be a very basic functionality. Another option is just to wait for Garmin to release patched software, or for third-party tools.

Right now you can't directly import the waypoints.
You could export your waypoints as text, import them into the address book of Palm Desktop, and then import them into the iQue. But then you will need to "relocate" all the location data.
iQue stores the waypoint location data in a custom field in the address book. The data in that field looks like it's encoded in some way.
For example, Garmin's location in Kansas shows up in the field "Custom 4" as "GARMIN 1BA16FEO BC965D9D". Obviously that translates to location data, but I don't know how.
If you could figure out how to translate that data you could encode all your current waypoint location data and then import it into Palm Desktop and then into the iQue.

Some info on Garmin waypoint encoding is here: http://www.abnormal.com/~thogard/gps/grmnprot.html. Numbers seem to be similar to what you got. I guess you'll need to do some math and compare the result with latitude/longitude displayed by iQue.

Thanks for the info. I assumed those values were hex, and I figured out how they translate (with help from Google).
The page cites these translations:
You take the hex number convert it to decimal...
So 1BA16FEO would be equal to 463564768.
You take that number and divide it by 2147483648.
You get 0.21586416
Then you multiply that by 180 and you get 38.85554999.
Which is the latitude of OLATHE, KS...Home of Garmin!
I'm sure that there's plenty of ways to get your waypoints into the iQue via the Palm Address book and some simple tweaking.
But if you just have a plain Ascii list of locations and their latitude and longitude it should be pretty easy to get that info into your iQue as well. It would just take a little bit of programming.

I was pretty excited in my last post, so let me be a bit clearer.
There is an easy way to translate between traditional latitude and longitude and the hexadecimal numbers (big-endian) stored in the Palm Desktop Address Book fields along with waypoints.
I'm not sure how people have their waypoints stored, but there's no doubt in my mind that you can get them into and out of an iQue.

Just for fun I wrote a little utility that converts Garmin's hexadecimal encoded waypoint location information that is stored in the Palm Desktop Address Book to human readable form (decimal latitude/longitude - and - degrees/minutes/seconds form). It can also convert back to the Garmin format.
It works great.
If anybody is interested I could make this available. Without too much work it could also:
- Turn your iQue waypoints into a human readable form on your PC
- Help import your existing waypoint list into the iQue.
Is there a demand? I guess I would make it shareware -- but super cheap.

Well, I am interested, but would like to write my own script and have some fun too :)
By the way: are you interested in programming iQue itself ? Do you know if there are any working freeware toolchains, either for C or script programming ? I did a quick search for Python ports and found some interesting links:
http://www.isr.uci.edu/projects/sensos/python/, http://sourceforge.net/projects/pippy, http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?PalmPython. Don't know if this software is usable though.

I'm mildly interested in programming the iQue. But it seems pretty complete to me.
But programming should be easier when the SDK comes out.
Somebody posted this to another thread.

I've just ordered my IQUE so I have no idea about how the data is transfered, but I have been using Map Source for over 3 years on an EMap. Great little machine, I wish they had improved on it.
Anyways, within Map Source, I start up 2 sessions of Map Source and select items waypoints, routes, tracks and saved tracks and cut and paste between the 2 sessions. This way I ended up with a large consolidated item file I could save hundreds of waypoints, routes, tracks and saved tracks. Only problem was duplicate names have to be renamed before hand.
You could even remove and or add sections of tracks, reload it to your machine before saving the tracks.
