Please bear with me, as I am a total newbie! My experience with Pocket PCs can be summed up in that I bought a few today...that's it. Now before I open one up, I thought I'd ask a few questions. Please, no flames, and no prejudice! (thanks in advance!)

I picked up an "open-box" Clie T615C (color) about 2 weeks ago. It was a step-up for me from a Palm 105 (monochrome). Now I lucked into a bunch of IPAQ 3835s. Before I open one up, can someone answer some questions?

Can I assume that the display on the 3835 will be brighter/more detailed/etc...? I know it will be bigger. The color screen of the Clie is so much nicer than the 105's mono screen, as well as the much higher resolution of the Clie. I've never seen a working pocket PC. The local stores have them on display, but not charged, and everyone I work with has PalmOS devices. If I remember correctly, I read that the IPAQs use the same screen/technology as the Clies(although somewhat bigger). Is it possible that the IPAQ will have a better picture/color?

Is there an actual working, reliable emulator that will allow me to use my PalmOS applications on the 3835? If so, which is the one to get? Can you beam PalmOS software between PPCs(if they both have an Emulator)? How about beaming to a PalmOS machine? Can you beam apps between all brands of PPC units, or is beaming brand specific?

Some articles I read tonight said that the 3835 has Windows CE, while others say it has Windows Pocket PC 2002. Which is it? Are they the same, and or interchangeable?

IIRC, I had heard in the past that the Pocket PC units had problems with drivers or something similar, and that you needed to do a lot of setup (patches/updates/drivers), to keep them working. I also heard that not all software that was sold for the Pocket PCs was actually compatable(much like a real PC, as compared to a MAC).

Yes I know I can't multitask, listen to MP3s, use the device as a voice recorder, or watch movies with the Clie, but evertime I install something in my PalmOS machines, it just plain works. What I'm asking is ...with the PPC units, do you get "the blue screen of death", like in a PC, or do they just work, with no maintence required?
