IPAQ 3970 standby

I have a frustrating problem with my newly purchased IPAQ 3970.

Out of the box the standby setting was at 75 and at this setting the devise shuts down when the battery capacity reaches 75%.

I have subsequently changed the standby setting to the minimum - 25, but the devise still shuts itself down at 75% battery capacity.

Have I missed something?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

When I got my 3850 it said 75% to 80%
when you plug into power outlet
if you power it on before then its dead.

they told me at the shop where I got it
to charge it for a full 8 to 10 hours when you get it.
if not you may have problems with the batt later on
Compaq/HP don't tell you this

Maybe do a reset and plug it in for 8-10 hours
and see what happens if not bring it back ASAP

I tried charging overnight but still no good. It appears tha battery is not holding a full charge - its going back tomorrow
