I have run into this snag when trying to add new apps to my blackberry, and I noticed from the old RimRoad board, that other people have seen this error too. Does anyone know if there is any way around this? What is the limitation?

"So there seems to be some builtin limitation to the number
of packages that can be added (this is a 957 running 2.1)
Is there some way to increase this limit or is it a hard coded
parameter in the O/S?"

Have you downloaded and installed the latest service packs from blackberry.net? If I understand what your saying the new desktop software will allow you to allocate the memory on the device so that you may add more software.

Yeah, all the service packs are current. I can increase the application space as I go along. In fact, at the moment I have enough free space to add more apps. That isn't the problem. Apparently there is something called application linkage, and the blackBerry only has so much available. If you try opening the application loader and add a number of apps (you can try and cancel without adding any), you will get this error. I found that certain apps like Webmessenger, GoWeb, Sparrow, etc take up more application "linkage" than others.

Does anyone know where I could go to learn more about what is going on?

Wormx,

Unfortunately the BlackBerry seems to only support a limited amount of applications. I also ran into the problem when loading a lot of apps and trying to load WebMessenger. As far as I know there isn't anything you can do about it. WebMessenger seems to be particularily bad because it loads quite a few modules on the BlackBerry.
