My Revo's agenda is unaccessible due to being full. There was no warning that it was filling up - just poof ! There is still loads of space on the machine ... it's just the Agenda file capacity that has run out.
How do I get my Agenda details back ? I've tried to merge it into another Agenda file, but still can't get into the full Agenda.
Any ideas ? And please take this a warning to others to regularly tidy or achive your Agenda files
Thanks

I have an application called Compactor in my 5mx which can compress Agenda and Data files. Unfortunately I don't have the original installation file and the author's website seems to be long gone. Here is a zip file containing Compactor.aif and Compactor.app. Place both of these files in the path C:\System\Apps\Compactor\ run the application and compress your Agenda file. [You may have to perform a soft reset after copying the files before the application will run, although this may have been because I was playing about deleteing the app from my Revo and then copying the files back from my 5mx and it wouldn't run without a soft reset.]

Thank you, Mike. I'll give it a try.

Just how big of a file can Agenda handle?
Mine is up to 174K.
I delete very few entries, most are left in so I can search for past events. I always assumed that since the machine had 10 Meg free, I had nothing to worry about.

How do you find out how much space you agenda is taking? I have never erased anything because I sometimes need to go back to confirm what I was doing on certain days.

Your "Agenda" is just a file whose properties you can check like any other file. If you don't have preferences set to display file size in the System screen, just highlight the file and press [Ctrl-P] to display its 'properties'.

Not sure it is just the size, I suspect the complexity of the file may have a bearing too. Just make sure you maintain very regular backups so you can revert to a very recent copy if it goes pear shaped :)

A friend suggested "tidying" each year from the Agenda into a separate file once you are a few months into the next year. You can then refer back to that year, but still maintain a small current agenda. She has 1999, 2000, 2001 and then the current one will become 2002.
I liked this idea - but I still have to get into my Agenda file using Mike's compressed file.
