Hi

have recently bought a jornada 720
when trying to connect to my isp through my nokia 6310 mobile i notice that the service would connect and then authenticate me but would then tell me that that the servers could not be found (when trying to use email or surf the net with the generic irda modem)
have checked the settings and they are all ok, even tried manually entering dns addresses etc
have tried different baud settings, nothing seems to work.
i eventually tried with the inbuilt modem through my phone line and the same thing happened.
can someone give me some advice please, i really need to get this working.
in case it makes any difference i am trying to access the telewest blueyonder service in Great Britain.

thanks very much in advance

My 568 exhibits the same problem whether I connect through a CF Modem, IR mobile phone or external modem: it will connect, log in and then fail.

About half the time it will connect and then do nothing, the rest it will connect sufficiently well to download email headers before losing the connection and sometimes I can even browse a few web pages before it breaks. Strange thing is that sometimes it will fix itself (ie resume downloading pages/emails) after a break of about 5 minutes (of continuous retries).

I should add that connecting through a desktop PC using Activesync passthru works perfectly and my Sony Clie has no problems doing any of this stuff with the same set of settings...

Is there a solution? I'm holding off adding the 568 to my WiFi network on the basis that it may exhibit the same behaviour...

Same problem with my 568 trying to use the generic irda modem with a Nokia 8310. no web pages displayed.

The Mail settings are copied directly from my outlook on PC, but the setup cannot find incoming server.

I'm thinking that there is an inherant problem here.

I have just posted a similar problem, I can connect with my Jornada 540 but as soon as a connection is established the network connections disconnects me looking for a network which does not exist. I have not idea why it grabs my internet access password and shoves it into my Network connection adopter. I have never gone through a network to access the web, nor have I requested this be set up in this way. I have been wrestling with this for months. Palm Pilot here I come.
