Hi, I'm looking for a cover to protect my new iPaq 3630.

Factors:

1. I have an expansion sleeve on it. I never use it, but I have it, so it seems I'd want a cover that can accomodate the Paq in either state.

2. I don't want a case that is super huge, so big it looks like I'm carrying a Franklin planner

3. I do have the dropsies: so I want something a little more than a Saran screen laminate, but less than body armor. I'm looking more for occasional bumps and the like that occur during transport in a backpack or pocket.

The best solution I've seen yet may be the iLid, but I'd like to hear what solutions others have since it's hard to gauge these things thru internet pictures and product descriptions.

Does the iLid stick up when you have it open (i.e., not flip back around smoothly?) Does it open accidentally easily (i.e. when slipping it into a snug backpack pocket?). The answer to both of these seems to be yes from reviews I've read, so I'm curious what other solutions might be out there.

I've also read about the iCover.

The neoprene cover from Compaq looks useful, but not exactly hip.

Comments with URLs?

Thx
Chris

If it is CF Sleave you have I would commend a case from Rhodiana Corp. It comes with and without a beltclip. They have two elastic bands for your fingers to keep in your hand. The other nice feature is lamintaded balistic nylon case. I cannot do this case justice, so here are a couple of links so you can see for yourself.

I have been using EBCases SlipperPAQ CF for almost 2 years now. They have various sizes & models and their URL is

I would not recommend this case, but it was reputed the best available when I bought it in late 2000. It was praised for its belt clip and flip-cover, which are now common on many models. My specific grievances are that the iPAQ doesn't sit all the way down in the case (this makes it hard to push the recorder button) and you can't fit it in the cradle to synch/charge in spite of claims to the contrary. Other than that it's OKAY, but I am looking for a better case. Note that I still haven't found one and don't like the looks of that Rhodian thing at all -- specifically the plastic sheath that covers the earphone jack (although I never use that), no access to the recorder button, and the fact you can't place it in the cradle to synch/charge. This means you'd have to remove it from the case to synch it, which I do frequently, and the description at gadgeteer says it's very hard to get it out of the case.

I would appreciate if you could give me the URLs for an iLid and iCover; I'd like to take a look at those.
