Got an IBM Workpad C505? Or maybe you can't get your Palm m505 to upgrade. Here's how. Thanks to Jsmiley for his help with this. (This may only work with serial cradles. I don't know. You will have to try it.)
Steps to a sucessful upgrade:
1. Preform a hotsync to backup your data.
2. Hard reset the device.
3. Start the PalmOS 4.1 Upgrade Tool and select Advanced.
4. Hold both the UP and DOWN arrows simultaniously, and press the reset pin in the back of the device. Hold down the arrows until you see a light blue bar at the bottom of the screen.
5. Put the device in your HotSync Cradle.
6. On your computer's screen, the "Next" button should become active.
7. Press next. If your comptuer tells you that your Palm is not compatible with the upgrade, press next, and continue anyway.
8. Continue through the on-screen prompts until your computer begins the upgrade process.
9. After the upgrade completed your handheld will reset.
10. That's it! HotSync to restore your data, and you should be all set!
