I'm very new to the world of PDA's, and I just picked up a m130.
I've read the manual front to back, read the CD walkthrough and I still can not figure this out!

The manual said to leave the handheld on the cradle for 2 hours for an initial charge. I plugged in the AC and the serial connection in, then with my computer turned on, I left it on for two hours.

After this, I tried to turn it on. A white screen with "Palm" across it turned on for half a second, then turned off. It would not do anything after this.

I tried charging it with the USB cable on a different computer for two hours, and no such luck.

I left it on the cradle all night and even this did not work.

I've emailed Palm about it and I should expect a response in 12 hours or so, but I'd like everyone elses thought on it. Did I receive a dud? Or have I overlooked something simple?

A hard reset should get things working.

I think I fixed it, I just did a hard reset, and left it on the 'Erase all data?' screen, and left it on the cable. I'm just going to let it charge for a while now.

New m130 and m515 handhelds are known to have this problem. A hard reset or two almost always does the trick.

Good luck.
