checking battery

I have bought a new Mnetbook one week ago. I would check wich is the standard cicle lifetime for discharging the main battery when you are working with the netbook. I have record 6.5 hours tested with chadisk but with the screen set not too much brilliant.

How can I test the battery for knowing its real level?
