To Palm Tungsten W Users,

I'm totally new to this -- don't find replies to previous questions asked, don't know what various codes or tags mean, etc. -- but am hoping this is a place where I can learn more about my Palm Tungsten W. Specifically, there are four things I really need help with:

(1) What do I need to do (or what Mac compatible application must I buy or download) that will allow me to take and save web page screen shots when accessing the Internet via the T/W??

(2) What map programs are BOTH Palm and MAC compatible? Everything I have found either works only with PC PDAs and/or Windows computers. I want to be able to get U.S. street maps either from downloads or CDs that Macs can read and then hotsync them as needed or save them directly to the T/W from the Internet.

(3) How does one get pictures into the "PhotoBase for Palm" album that came with the T/W?

(4) Can one put audible books and/or music into the T/W (presumably saved to SD cards) and then hear the books and music through the regular speakers, earbud, or audio flip cover and, if so, how??????

Thank you SO MUCH anyone who can reply with answers! :D

there are alot of books and info on Palm web site that will guide you through the use of your new palm organizer. If this is the first time you have used it. go through the start application called "Welcome"

There should be so much info out there that you will find everything you need if you just look. :)

Hi Soltrinox--

No, I'm not new to Palm but I am new to the Tungsten W and the specific problems posed by its capabilities. I finally figured out the answer to how to get photos into the album but then all the SplashClock pictures decided they wanted to be in the album, too, and that caused the T/W to hang up. Part of the problem seems to be that my Palm essential CD is corrupt, so I'm having some problems I shouldn't.

I'm still looking for an application that will allow me to take screen shots directly from the T/W when I'm on the Internet and save them to the SD card, software that is Palm and Mac compatible that will give me step by step map directions and maps without a GPS (some version of Mapopolis may work, I think), and a way to listen to audible books and music through a headphone (not the one that came with the T/W that is dedicated to the phone) or the speakers in the Palm. Maybe these things aren't possible, but I figured there should be some work around and who better than PDA people who use the Tungsten W to ask? If I can get the answers then they can be shared with everyone else and we all can learn and benefit. Hopefully others beside you will reply.

Believe me, I have looked and looked and looked -- a lot! -- and now I'm looking here. :-)
