Base Map: America Std vs. World

Not sure which base map should I load. Anybody noticed any difference between the America Standard vs. World basemap when use it in the US mainland?

If you are staying in the US, load the America Standard if you have an SD card with the room for it. It provides much more detail than the "lite", which can be useful if you look or travel to areas not covered by detailed maps.

It looks like the world basemap is just the Americas, Pacific and Atlantic basemaps merged. When you do a find and then do options->select map, it gives me a choice of either of those 3 or the detailed map that I loaded. I have just loaded the world basemap and some detail maps, so the world map must just be equivalent to the 3 seperate basemaps.

Does the "World Basemap" contains all of the "America Standard" or "America lite" basemap?

I haven't ever looked at the Americas lite so don't know what kind of detail it has, but I would have to say it's the full version since there is a fair amount of detail with just the basemap. Also the size of the world basemap is pretty close to the added size of the 3 seperate base maps (full, not lite).
