Hotsync Cradle

Hi,
Im going to get a Zire 71 soon (taking the plunge) and just wondering is there any sounds/noises/lights comming out of the palm when you charge it because the comp is in the room i sleep in and i was going to hot sync and charge it while i sleep.
Plus what do you guys recommend via the PC software to help hotsync the palm, should i use the software that comes with the palm or should I d/l the version on the palm web site?

there is a sound when put the palm in the cradle but you can turn that off from preferences and you can set it so the light will turn off in like thirty seconds also in preferences
I'm not sure what hotsync software your talking about, i usen the one that came with the palm.

I use my Zire as my alarmclock; so, charging it is done during nigth, close to my pillow.

Why so close? It's because the alrm sound is not so loud. If the Zire is more than 10 feet away, it does not wake up me. :eek:

The alarm sound is the only one I let running: all others are off.

The main problem for me is not the sound, but the Palm cradle: I have to carefully place the Zire in. The PDA easily stay disconnected from the power contacts inside the cradle and if so, the battery does not recharge. I have to doublecheck with the main menu to be sure the charging pattern is going on.

I got 2 of these cradles with the same problem on both.
