Hi
I have Outlook 2000 and PsiWin 2.3.3, with my wife's Revo.
Recently, I thought I'd try & synchronise the Revo with Outlook (never bothered before, just used PsiWin to back up). When I run the synchronizer, I don't get the option for synch'ing with Outlook. I get various Lotus progs and Microsoft Schedule+. I've tried removing and re-installing PsiWin (very painful, requiring me to edit the registry to remove Psion keys), and re-installing Outlook, all to no avail.
Any ideas would be gratefully received...
thanks
Mike

Mike,
Take a look inside Outlook 2000. There should be a Psion Synchronizer button the toolbar and Psion Synchronizer should be listed in the Tools Menu. If you see these in Outlook, try syncronizing from inside Outlook. If they're not there then there's something wrong with the way that Outlook is registered with Windows. You didn't say what version of Windows you have so I can't offer any suggestions about exactly what may be happening with Windows. There's also a slight possibility that PsiWin is damaged and that a clean download and reinstall may solve the problem.
Uninstalling is not painful at all if you use Mike McConnell's little Registry Cleaner program, which I've attached here.

Jim,
thanks very much for your ideas [I'm using Win 2k BTW].
I did try synchronizing from whithin Outlook to no avail: I got the same options. Also, I did try re-installing PsiWin. I used the registry cleaner which you posted but there were still loads of entries in the registry. The sequence was as follows:-
When I originally tried to un-install PsiWin, I used add/remove programs in control panel. This started but just hung up after a few seconds. I had to reboot the machine, but then the uninstall no longer worked but also I couldn't re-install - the installer told me PsiWin was already present. I used Mike McConnell's registry cleaner, but that didn't help. There were still loads of Psion entries in the registry & the installer still wouldn't run. I had to use regedt32 to delete all the Psion keys. Then, I could re-install.
Again, thanks for your thoughts & if you have any more ideas, I'd be glad to know.

Mike,
So you're saying the Psion Syncronizer icon shows up in Outlook 2000 but, when you click on it, it brings up the syncronizer window with nothing showing for Outlook? If so then this is truly bizzare. I've never heard of anything like this before. Did you download PsiWin from the Web? The only thing that makes any sense to me is that something in PsiWin itself is damaged and not allowing the Outlook sync option to show. I would try downloading and installing a fresh copy.

Jim
yes, that's exactly what happens.
I did download PsiWin from the web, but will try a fresh download / reinstall and see if that fixes it.
Thanks again for your help.
regards
Mike
