Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : ISP providers in the USA
Hello everyone
No disrespect intended but this message is sent out to all of those who use their Psion's in the USA. (or those who reside elsewhere but have accurate information)
I never had the need to use my Series 7 for internet access but may need to do so in the near future. I would like to know what members are using what service and their comments on that service.
Thank you in advance for any response or assistance that you can provide.

Hello Marc,
Earthlink is, as advertised, "The Real Internet." It works great with any EPOC device or indeed any PDA. They have access numbers nationwide. I have never had any problems with my Earthlink account.
Any ISP that allows standard PPP connections will work.
The only criticism I have of Earthlink is that finding access numbers can be confusing. The number I use on a daily basis is not listed when looking at the access number list for California. If you search for a number based on your own local number, you will come up with a better list.
Earthlink even has (or had when I last looked) instructions for setting up a connection with a number of PDAs. All the settings that you need will be there, you only need to enter the information in your S7 Internet settings.
If you end up choosing Earthlink, please feel free to contact me for any assistance you might require in setting up your connection.
Cheers,

I really like budget dialup. http://www.budgetdialup.com/
You prepay $3.95 for 10 hours service or $6.95 for 20 hours service that can be used anytime within a 12 month time period - no more ongoing monthly charges. They have an e-mail service as well that works with Psion's e-mail app. There are plenty of dialup numbers nationwide, though you may want to check for a local number in your area before you travel. Well recommended.
Many thanks for both responses in answer to my question.
I will check out the services that can serve me best.
Thank you again.

i have set up my mako to use my existing MSN dialup account. i use this isp dialy on my pc and i works just as well on my psion. there are some minor flaws that i had to call MSN support about, but they were easily fixed. to the best of my knoledge epoc works with any isp that uses a conventional dial-up service (when the two little computers apear in your status bar with you clock).
cheers
