If you didn't want to wax philosophic on the pros/cons of your PDA of choice... just use the poll and the results can speak for themselves...

it's a palm (though that may not be a plus, i admit) it has color, a rechargable lithium cell, and you can use part of youu money to buy yourself some assecoies or software on top of it.

(this comment has no relation to any person on this or the old board who so happens to probably agree with me on this and therefore chose this as a nick);)

I agree with vollie, get a IIIc, you can also get a keyboard if you're willing to go ebay.

3c's are nice..I have one in fact...The screens are very bright..inside... outside, unless your in shade or something, teh screen totally blacksout... If your gonna use it in doors mostly tehn get a 3c otherwise choose somthing else..

Too true, it isn't very effective in sunlight, I think when the sun comes on the screen horizontally...otherwise, great cheap unit, don't worry about the 256 vs. 65,000 either, it makes little difference(to me anyhow).

if you don't care much about price, the nicest PDA out on the market now is (drum roll please).... SONY NX-70v!!!!! whatever you do, don't get a pocket pc. unless you feel like spending $700 on a paperweight.

I have a long time affection for the Palm Vx. Light, sharp mono screen and just as good looking today as the day it was first shipped.

oh, now i've read your question again and saw the price limit. IIIc all the way. I got mine on eBay for $80, and I've seen them go for as low as $50-60. try looking for one with a small easily fixed problem like a missing stylus.
