Having just received my goldcard 56K back from psion - great service under the lifetime guarantee - for the second time, I am curious as to what caused it to fail as they offer no explanation of what they did to fix it or what the trouble with it was. I am wondering if it is normal for the card to get very hot while conected to the internet for long durations (over half an hour, I also usually have it plugged into the mains at the same time). I am wondering also if potentially this heat could cause any screen problems as I have had occassionally this sudden change in screen contrast when I press the keys near the font left which returns to nomal brightness when when I squeeze the keyboard firmly on the front right or recently read about pressing the netbook logo above the "6 & 7" key to help with screen problems and have not seen the problem since though I am concerned there is a hardware fault looming (was told the bill was a standard £170 to do anything).

Thanks for the help

I have been using the gold cards for years an have not had problems with them. Used the 33.6k and 56k. I don't know if anyone else has or not??? Have also used Viking and no problem there either.

Thanks,

Bobbyr

Same as bobbyr - a V34 and a 56k, both Psion brand and have been fine. I do sometimes feel a bit concerned about the heat that builds up, though.
