Hope this is the right psion forum. Time for a new phone and I am interested in the Trium Sirius and was hoping someone out there has used it with their psion and can let me know how well it works and what settings you used, and how you found the phone in general.

Hi Mark

I've moved your query to this forum, as it's not really a netBook specific issue, and more people might see it here - settings should be the same for all Epoc machines.

Thanks for moving it Julie.

<<settings should be the same for all Epoc machines>>> The setting for each phone in the Modem setting is different, and that was what I was after so If I do ever actually find anyone selling this phone I couldtest it - as in the flow control and DCD and init reset etc.

The setting for each phone in the Modem setting is different Yes, indeed. The point Julie was making was, I believe, that the settings for a particular phone will be the same with all EPOC devices - not that all phones have the same settings.

Unless someone does actually have the phone working, you will have to do a bit of "trial and error" starting with basic settings.

------------------
Name - Trium
Speed - 57600
Connect - Infrared
Fax Class - Auto
------------------
Init (reset) - ATZ (or try AT&F)
Data - (blank)
Fax - (blank)
------------------
Flow - Hardware (RTS/CTS)
Terminal (DSR/DTR) [ ] not checked
Carrier (DCD) [ ] not checked
Type - Mobile (or "Fixed line" if it times out without dialling.)
------------------

If it is a GPRS phone then it's even more "trial & error". Any particular reason for moving away from the 'mainstream' phone models which are known to work?

Thanks for clearing that up Mike I felt I must have misunderstood Julie as I was sure she would know that it was diffeferent for different phones.

<<<Any particular reason for moving away from the 'mainstream' phone models which are known to work?>>> Yes several people have asked me this. My main reason is I like the sound of it from the reveiws I have read in certain Magazines and on the web. My main reason for choosing to look at this phone is its size - I wamt the lightest Phone with IR possible I want to lighten my pockets / bag. As in besides the Vtech (equally hard to find someone selling it) it is the smallest phone with IR (if the ericson T66 Had IR I would choose that one). I do not need cameras and colour screens etc, all I need is a good phone for voice calls and it must Have IR to work with my psion. The phone is small and neat yet with voice memo and diary features. I know it is always a risk moving from the main stream but sometimes its worth it like with Psions :-) I did try the Sendo D800 equally small with IR but I had software problems and they could not fix it so I returned it. Since losing my 8310 and my contract is up for renewal I will probably go for the T68i or 6510 unless the 6610 (with the wistles and bells I know) is released soon.

Thanks for the help
