I asked the LAN group in my office if they had intellsync(full version), so that I could link my ique to my Lotus notes mail and calander at work.

They responded by saying they would like me to

1) unistall the palm desktop and hotsync manager I am currently using (the one I recived with the ique)

2)Install there version
Palm Pilot v41 - Hotsync Manager
Palm Pilot v41 - Palm Desktop

3) The install PalmPilot - EasySync v30a for Notes R5.

I am wondering if I leave the garmin vesions of palm desktop and hotsync manager as is and just install the EasySync v30a for Notes R5 what will happen....

Anyone have any expertise on this topic...can I use EasySync v30a for Notes R5 with garmins version of hotsync and palm desktop or is this not going to work?

Pocket Mirror (Outlook conduit) and Intellisync (bundled with Que) are strictly conduits - that is they provide a method of data exchange between the software on the desktop and the software on the Que.

Hotsync manager provides for the method of that sync process to occur via whatever conduit you prefer.

Ok, here is the problem as I perceive it: The Palm Desktop for the Que has to be installed in order for you to be able to upload the maps. If you have previously been using a Palm device successfully within your LAN system then I don't see a reason why installing the Que/Palm Desktop version will have any adverse effect - provided you install it only to your Desktop and not to the LAN. You don't want to upset your IT guys.

The verison of the HotSync manager shouldn't make any difference. In fact, I suspect at this point all you need to do is go ahead and install the Lotus program they prefer (conduit) and configure it for field mapping (if necessary) and you probably good to go.

No harm will come to the Que for using their version of Hot Sync manager because I believe they are the same - It's 4.1.0 on my desktop.

Just install the Lotus conduit and give it a try.
