Hi All,
Am thinking of getting a secured info system to protect sensitive info such as account/ passwords etc.
Which is better?
PDA defence at US$29.95
[/URL]
or
SplashID at US$19.95

or
Never save sensitive info on PDA at US$0.00
Let me know your comments and appreciate too if you have any other recommendations.
Thanks

JanJan,
I may have got the wrong end of the stick,
but I'd like to point out that PDA Defense (Pro) and SplashID are two different types of software.
I use both - Splash ID to protect sensitive info passwords etc and PDA Defense to effectively secure my palm. PDA DefensePro will secure your device by forcing you (if you choose) to enter a password for access. It also allows you to encrypt specific databases amongst other things.
If you want my opinion I'd get both - I did! :D
Hope this helps

Check out OnlyMe from tranzoa.com. Alex, the creator of OnlyMe, has a lot of good info on his site about security on the Palm. What ever your final decision is I suggest you prepare yourself with the information found on www.tranzoa.com, look under information.

I really like CryptInfo myself. Its by www.normsoft.com
It's strictly to the point but a new version will be out probably later this year with icon selection and more color options. It's only $14.99 and has good encryption.
I like it better than SplashID because you can customize each field within each record no matter what the category is. You're not handed a list of previously set fields that are uneditable.

Thanks for the info!
I'll be trying CryptInfo and OnlyMe before deciding. Happy that both are cheaper than the 2 products I found (maybe a little OTT for me). :p
Interesting that there is a user group for CryptInfo has a yahoo user group...

WebConfidential, works like notepad, has conduit for Windows and Mac, price $15,00.
I'm using it for about three years and am very satisfied. The developers offer good email support as well.

I use Mobile safe from Handmark.com, it uses encryption and has a desktop program that allows you to consult and change your information and then of course hotsync it to the Palm.
It does not have a feature to protect the palm itself, but the information that you enter into mobile safe is protected. I have been using it for a year and have had no problems with it.
Have a good day,
