Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : battery won't change to 100%
I purchased a Palm M505 that had to be a couple years old. The battery didn't hold charge, so I purchased a new one and replaced it. Now when placed in cradle it changes the battery to 100% (so it says), but within just a few minutes of use it discharges to somewhere in the 30-40% range. I returned the battery thinking it was bad, but was told it was OK. I was also told that some M505's had a bad motherboard that prevented charging to 100%. Has anyone else heard of this? I don't want to purchase and replace the motherboard if that isn't the problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

The charge circuit needs to be reset:

This should solve your problem.
The new battery was brand new, right? Not "newly removed from another m505"? Li-Ion batteries last about 2 years from date of manufacture. Newly removed = about 2 years old, so that would be bad.

My new Li ion battery did the same thng. Try a soft reset while in the cradle charging. This often resets it so it will accept a fuyll charge. Been fine ever since. I should add that I have a 515.
