Ipaq always switches off within 10 secs

Every time I switch my iPAQ 2210 on it always switches itself off again, sometimes instantly, but always within less than 10 seconds. If I then switch it back on again immediately everything seem OK and it stays on. This even happens when it wakes up in the cradle for activesyncing.

I've checked the power settings and they are set to turn the device off after 2 minutes of inactivity when on batteries and after 10 minutes when on external power.

Can anybody tell me why this is happening and how to prevent it.

I'm glad you posted!

I'm having the same trouble with my 2215. Exactly the same situation. I'll turn it on to check my calendar with someone on the phone and the damn thing just shuts off. Then book, I power it back up and it's fine.

I'd love to hear the answer.

Yes very annoying. especially when I can't get any email support from HP as their email links don't seem to include the 2200 series ipaq
