Under the extras selection tab is the Comms program. When I go to open it, it is requesting a password. I've never set up any passwords on any of the programs on my 5mx. I've upgraded to the Psiwin 2.3.3(I think) to use with my Windows XP software.

I backed up and did a hard reset followed by a restore, but that did not clear the password request. I use the comms program to dial the long numbers for my modem when I'm traveling and have to use a prepaid calling card to connect.

I searched the forum for past topics on the 5mx but it came up blank.

Any help is appreciated.

Strange one this, since the Comms application does not itself have the facility to set a password just to use the app. I'm guessing that a previous uses of the application is causing this.

Like all EPOC apps, Comms will try to open the last file it was opened with. If a file is not explicitly given a filename, the file will have the same name as the associated application, and will be located in the C:\Documents folder.

Thus I suggest you delete 'Comms' from the Documents folder, and see if this fixes things.
