Data Loss Problem Help Me Out Here Please

After I turned of the pda I took the main battery out (I did this a few times before however, nothing happened), however this time, when I turned it on it told to press something to continue and so I did, however, sinced it loaded for a really long time I hit the reset button and my whole memmory from my Pocket PC got deleted, i was wondering if you guys have any idea how to bring it back, Has this ever happened to you before?

well sorry but its gone thats what the memory does if it doesnt have battery strength it goes bye bye thats why there is a backup battery do you have it in? cause it shoulda saved it as long as it could. i know this was the deal with palms someone might want to tell me if im right or not.
