What does this button do? (3835)

On the back of the active sync cradle there is a button that "snaps" and looks as if it is used to"eject" the Ipaq.
However it only works if the ipaq is in its case or has one of the many expansion sleves on. Is that what it is for? Wondering why it is so hard to reach.

When you put an ipaq with a sleeve into the cradle it pushes down on two things on the side of the cradle. That button just releases them so that if you want to put a naked ipaq in it holds it tight.
