I complained about the silver coating come off the case around the stylus and the bottom corner and they replaced it. Be advised - it took two tries to get a working unit. I wasted a lot of time. The replacement they send has no batteries, so you have to back up your current PDA, this took over 60 minutes for me. When the new one comes you have to take the batteries out of the old one and fire up the new one to restore your backup to it. Taking the batteries out results in total memory loss in the old one. Therefore, I had to restore to the original machine while waiting for a new replacement. Then I had to do it all over again. So here is what to do. When the new one arrives, unplug the power cable from the cradle and plug it into the new unit. Then power it up and make sure it will initialize. If the replacement works, then you take the batteries out of the original (AFTER BACKING IT UP) and put them in the replacement. Check the ROM version and make sure it has the latest before doing the restore also. Good luck keith5885 09-10-2003, 03:17 PM so they cant like send me a rubber piece they gotta send the whole thing? thats dumb i cant wait for that I rather live through it. do you think i can bitch at them for them to send the piece i lost that came off cause they cant put it on very good? thanks for the help though no one was responding FKHCLE 09-10-2003, 03:24 PM I expect that you can call and ask them for anything. But it seems like they are set up to deliver whole pieces (ie the whole Axim). I know that my replacements came from someplace in Ohio and not Texas. Dell like many others, have agreements with FedEx, Airborne, UPS, etc to provide logistics and not just delivery. They keep spare machines located all over the country and ship from the nearest one. I expect to get them out that mode will take a lot of griping. Good luck. Let me know hat happens. keith5885 09-10-2003, 11:19 PM I will call tommorow thanks man. PDA Street
