I registered here using a "virgin" email address, and didn't use it for anything else.
Now I'm getting spam.
Only on that one, not others I created on the same mail server but didn't use yet.
Something I didn't notice in the Privacy Policy? Or has this only happened to me?

I read an article in consumer reports about how spam works. A list is created by a company of "assumed" email addresses. (For example: mike1@aol.com, mike2@aol.com, miike3@aol.com.......mike286@aol.com, and so on and so on with different words and word combinations. Then the (spammer's) server checks the host's database to find out the "real" email addresses. (For example: mike5@aol.com, mike88@aol.com, and so on and so on.) So, from what I have gathered, you could have not given out your email to anyone, and still recieve spam.
This next thing has nothing to do with spam.
Another thing; I think that America should focus on spam and suing spammers than suing people who download music. This country has its priorites messed up. A baseball player who can't even hit the ball is paid outrageous salaries per game, whilst a nurse who saves peoples lives day in and day out gets very close to minimum wage.
I use Yahoo. When you get spam just select "This is Spam" from your e-mail options and you wont get it from them again.

Another unfortuante thing that spammers do, is use multiple email addresses, some in fact, can't be blocked. I have been getting some pornographic content in my inbox and when I clicked block, it said the email address could not be blocked. You should read the article in Consumer Reports, it is very informing and also ranks spam-blocking software and their effectiveness.

I agree with Zire Straits about getting priorities right. Let me add that this is also true of the United Kingdom and I beleive a whole host of other countries.
