I'm about to buy my first PDA, and it's going to be either a Palm m515 or an Ipaq 3630.
I'm buying a used one, and they both cost the same. I don't have a clue as to which one to get, so I'd be really happy to get any kind of advice.

If I were you, I would choose the m515 unless you need multimedia. The m515 is not capable of playing MP3s.

However, it is a smaller device and has a built in SD slot. The Palm OS is more efficient and responsive than the Pocket PC. The battery life is better on the Palm and the Palm has more free applications available. I have had both a Pocket PC and a Palm. I can tell you that I have been more pleased with the Palm.

Pocket PCs are very complex to set up. Setting up ActiveSync is very tricky. HotSync is used to synchronize the Palm devices. It is easy to set up and use. It also does a great job of automatically backing up and restoring lost data.

Also, the iPAQ 3630 does not have a built-in memory card slot. You would need to purchase an expansion sleeve. Memory cards are necesary if you plan on installing lots of programs and ebooks. Good luck on your decision.
