Jornada 720 - Printing to an HP LaserJet 4500

I'm trying to print from my Jornada 720 via IR to a LaserJet printer. Everything seems to be configured correctly but I cannot get the damn thing to work. It doesn't even seem as though the Jornada even initiates IR comms, which usually takes a noticeable amount of time to do so.

Any ideas as to what to do?

Cheers,

According to HP, LaserJet 4500 series (4500 and 4500DN) must be of IrDA printing capabilty. And your comments tell me failure to initiate IrDA comm.
Then..why don't you try synchronizing between J720 and a desktop thru IrDA comm?
The result will give you what the problem is...if it failed, then the biggest possiblity is that J720's IrDA was broken....if succeeded, then check up the printer's IrDA using your desktop IrDA printing.:D

Yep, I thought about that. Haven't got an IR transeiver on my PC, only got one on the printer. When I used to use my Psion Series 5mx, beaming to the printer was fine. However, the interface between the printer and the IR module has been disconnect, packed away, and then reconnected again, although I don't think there would be a problem there.

Thanks for making the suggestion though.
