My iQue lost voice guidance recently. It can play MP3 music. The bar on the Volume/Individual/Guidance is set to maximum. Does any one have any idea on how to get the voice back? Thanks.

CougerofEQ 09-07-2003, 10:17 PM Use the "change voice" option on the setup disk just in case you lost your voice files. But first check the volume setting for "guidance" - it has a seperate volume slide bar. Also check your setting under preferences, guidance and make sure the prompts are all turned on( should say guidance and Status). All I can remember right now from memory. Hope its one of those since they are easy to fix. kamwu 09-07-2003, 11:00 PM I used the "change voice" option on the setup disk and re-installed the files. I get the voice back. I know that turns everything off and then back on but that is what I have to do to get the voice back. Plan on talking to Garmin and find out why? LeoG 09-08-2003, 04:52 PM I had a hard reset and lost my voice. Then figured out that the voice is in regular memory. I reinstalled it from the CD and it came back. Something to remember after a hard reset. dacat 09-08-2003, 04:53 PM I had the same problem, whenever I loaded a notepad base program(e.g. Bugme). I would lose the voice every now and then. I would have to do a soft reset and it would come back. Well that got annoying after a few times. So I decided to start removing programs. Well after slowly adding programs back I reloaded I forgot what I was using before Bugme but it was the culprit. So after removing it again and smooth sailing for a couple of day the verdict was in, at least in my case. So I tried Bugme! and again tha same results, I would lose voice navigation. So I just gave it up. Willing to try something else but for now I can live without a notepad base program as long as the Q tells me how off route I am. BTW Not talking about memopad that came with it. Notepad allows the user to simply draw their note on the screen. Felix PDA Street
