Activesync unresolved item problem...

I didn't add any files or change anything, that I'm aware of, and yesterday I started getting an unresolved item message in the 'files' portion of activesync. When I click resolve I get the message...

"synchronization cannot be completed because a file cannot be synchronized with your moblie device. Close all programs on you mobile device and this computer, and synchronize again."

Obvoiusly this didn't work or I wouldn't be posting. Can anyone tell me how to go about resolving this problem, or where to begin? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

This happens once in awhile on my Ipaq 3835. If resetting the device and re-syncing doesn't work, there's an option in the sync menu to "resolve items". This brings up the offending file and it's a conflict between a file changed either on your handheld or on the desktop (usually when I make a change to a specific file on my handheld, and then to the same file stored on the desktop before I sync'd the device, Activesync doesn't know which version you want saved since it can't do both). Try that and see if it gets you anywhere.

Thanks for the reply... everytime I tried to use the resolve item dialog, I would get that error message and wouldn't even get to the dialog. Regardless, the problem seems to have solved itself.

Yeah I get those from time to time. The way I get rid of it, I go into "ITask" on the Ipaq, and close all apps; then I re-initiate a sync and all is well.
