Taking into consideration the Nr70v's clam shell design which protects the screen does one get a case to protect the case from falls (if one is needed) or at the very least to protect this beauty from any scratches, it's like getting a case for a cool case. Anyway, I find myself pondering whether I should get a case adn if so should it be a thin one or a thick one, should it open left to right or up and down. Ive seen all the many designs (I think), from $29 to $129. Im confused. Any opinions or comments?

I suggest gitting a case if only for cosmetic reasons. About a month ago my nr70v took a trip down the stairs without me. It held its own for about 15 steps but then parts started to fly off it (these were metal stairs like the kind you find in military bases). Upon close inspection the only things that fell off where the plastic things around the top clamshell peice. I must say I am very impressed with the way my clie handles those stairs. I give it a 9.5 for form and a 10 for taking a heck of a beating and still working. The total amount of steps it fell down before I could catch up with it were 25 steps. If I had a case for the clie it would never had physically hit the steps, the case would have, thus it does protect even the strongest of pdas. Also if I had a case I probably would never had dropped it because the metal casing on the nr70v is kinda slippery.
I am trying to get the new vaja i-volution case through direct case
and yes it is $129 dollars but it looks realy good and covers the sides as well.
I would also like to add that thank god I did not buy a Palm for thier plastic case would be no match for diamond palted steel steps.

I dropped my NR70 less than a week after I got it but wasn't as lucky. The LCD screen cracked and I had to get a new one. The cause was the slick silver case. What I did was apply a screen protector (in my case I had some WriteRight protectors) to the front and back of the case. You can barely notice them and they provide some tactle feel. I've them on for about 5 months and they still look fine.

Fozz, you are definately lucky and I know the case you wrote about and its nice. The cases that cover all sides are nice for protection and can hold wallet items but then we enter the bulky territory...........
Vaja seems to be the way im going too.
Clever thinking Woofer.
