As I heard from the others, H1900 series has USB port.
If using it with external USB hardisk, it can be an Applie I-Pod!

With other ipaq models you can have high capacity storage through pcmcia card or add usb host via cf card, but 1900 series does not have cf slot or expansion sleeve. http://www.tjotala.com/hardware/storagebrick/default.htm http://www.ratocsystems.com/english/products/subpages/cfu1u.html Iman74 09-10-2003, 01:23 PM Answerdude, USB on PPC's is something I have been waiting for to happen. Do you know if anybody has discussed in doing it, or already in the process of engineering it? With USB on PPC's we won't be reliant on only SD and CF; we can now use our thumbdrives as storage. AnswerDude 09-10-2003, 02:34 PM Toshiba pocketpc do have usb host capability, with usb host cable you can connect USB devices such as GPS, mouse, keyboard, memory card reader to it. RTAdams89 09-10-2003, 06:26 PM If you get a thumb drive taht uses cf cards, you can then just switch out the card to the ipaq. Iman74 09-11-2003, 10:37 AM That is true; but if you use the thumbdrive like me, you do not want to be bothered with drivers. When I first got into flash memory (before I owned a PPC or Palm that used SD or CF) I bought a Zio card reader for Smartdisk memory cards. For the most part it worked great, but I always had to carry and load drivers and some software to get this to work on other computers. Then I later learned that Trek Thumbdrives used on OS's 2000 and newer do not require drivers for they are already integrated in the OS. So now I carry my Ipaq 2215 and my trek thumbdrive which I use to transfer files from one computer to another. I refuse to go back to floppy or zip, and cd's are to delicate and big to carry around. So if I have this thumbdrive, I would like to be able to transfer files to the Ipaq directly to it. Answerdude, This cable you discuss, do you know if one exists or in the makings for Ipaq? AnswerDude 09-11-2003, 10:49 AM Originally posted by Iman74 Answerdude, This cable you discuss, do you know if one exists or in the makings for Ipaq? As I said above, the Ipaq has NO usb host capability. There is no usb host cable, there will never be usb host cable for the ipaq. You need cf usb host card mentioned above for the ipaq. RTAdams89 09-11-2003, 06:23 PM In future ipaqs there may be usb. But USB support will never be added to current ipaqs except by way of a cf usb adapter. PDA Street
