Hi, a friend gave me her Palm VX because she has given up on it. I am not so foolish, however..... all things can be repaired :) My Palm V is getting very full and the screen stinks now.

So, what her Palm does is when you put it on the cradle, the palm splash screen comes up, but nothing happens. This is what happens even without hitting the sync button. When taken off the cradle, it turns off and cannot be turned back on.

My desire is to reformat it to factory new, if possible, but holding down the reset button and power button don't work. Searching this board I found one other method which I will try tonight, which is holding down the memo button and hitting reset.

I am just wondering if any of you know of other methods and could post them, so I can try everything.

Thanks!

You did the Hard Reset?:

Try to put in the OS3.5 upgrade:
http://www.palmone.com/us/support/35upgrade/palmvx_upgrade.html

If it won't go, do a Debug Reset:
1) hold the "Down" button
2) press and release the reset button
3) release the "Down" button
This puts a small blinking square in the upper left of the screen, and ensures that it will accept the OS upgrade.

If these steps don't work, the Palm Vx may be fried.
