Davinci 2MB won't work!!!

I cannot get the Davinci 2MB to startup.
I just bought it from someone who hadn't opened it.
I tried fresh batteries. Are there any tricks to getting it going???

I don't have much experience with DaVinci, but I do remember a most annoying 'feature' ... when you change batteries you have to remember to slide the little catch into place to lock the battery compartment cover - if you don't it won't start up!

Also I had a black DV and stupidly did not notice the black contrast adjustment wheel located on the side of the unit top left. Needless to say this wheel could get turned down, making the screen appear blank when in fact it was on.

I know these are silly things, but I mention them becuase if you don't have the manual they can -in my experience- easily be missed.

It finally started working. It even donwloaded my calendar, and contact info once. But since then, it just times out.

I'll ask my wife for a palm for christmas.

Sleep
daVinci automatically powers off (sleep) when it is idle for a period of time.
The waiting time to go to the sleep function is set like this. Battery power level is
shown on this screen.
To Change Sleep Time
1. Tap the Menu, Preference, Sleep.
2. Tap the up /down arrows to increase and decrease the minutes to
wait and turn off the unit automatically after the last action.
3. Tap Save or ok to confirm the change.
Note: The default of 3minutes is the minimum setting, Maximum is 10
minutes.
