IR communication in ActiveSync problem

I don't know what to do. I can communicate between my PDA and PC through USB by ActiveSync but I can initiate communication through IRDA. But - I can communicate between PDA and Nokia Phone through IR. I can communicate betwwen Nokia Phone and PC through IR. Only communication between PC and PDA is impossible. I have set up all in ActiveSync on my PC. My PC doesn't recognize PDA when I initiate communication from my PDA. I tried to upgrade IR driver in PC.
My PC is noteebok ASUS M3000N. I have the latest version from ActiveSync 3.7. Can somebody help me???? Otherwise I have to by cable :mad:

Which PDA do you have?

And, honestly - connection by IRDA is so much slower than USB that you're not missing much...


In ActiveSync, under File->Connections Settings, do you have the check box at the top, which allows serial and IRDA connections, turned on?

I have COMPAQ iPAQ 3970. I had no problem with my previously notebook but now I have new notebook. Therefore I think problem is in notebook not in iPAQ. Maybe driver, but why I can communicate with mobile phone?

Yes, in ActSync under File->Connections Settings I have selected right option.
