I'll use the iQUE that I intend to buy in one car, a Volvo 965, 90 percent of the time, so I'd like a fixed mount. Charging and speaker connection is needed. What are the solutions?

Seidio?

Buy another bean bag mount, take away the bag and only use the cradle and foot portion?

BTW, I'll use the left corner of the windshield for PDA navigation. The mid console is used for laptop navigation on longer trips, I simply hang a ultralite notebook vertically in front of the radio and air vent. That mount did't cost one cent, but I'm prepared to pay for a good PDA mount.

Another reason for choosing the left corner is that it appeared the best place to avoid reflections from sun-lit windows uring the half hour that I tried the iQUE

For the loudspeakers, there is a simple solution if you have a power amplifier to your radio. Simple connect the headphone output in parallell to the front speaker channels. Worked with any device I connected so far - discman, shortwave radio etc. But no muting for voice prompts, of course. But if you use the iQUE mp3 player you get it.

Well, when I bought the iQUE and the car kit, they told me that you could have the bottom part of the car mount without the bean bag. Same as for other Garmin navigators.
So that was it...

Jonas,

If you are looking for something to attach that Garmin mount to, check out http://www.brodit.com/. They manufacture mounting solution specifically designed for each individual vehicle. There has been lots of discussion of them on the forum. Just do a search for ProClip if you are interested.

Jonas,

I'd recommend the Proclip (http://www.proclipusa.com/frameset.htm), they make fixed mounts for almost every vehicle and then buying an additional Garmin base from GPSCity (http://www.gpscity.com/gps/brados/2688.2.10631194542112841192/autobase.html) to mount to it. You can use the cradle and powercord speaker from the Garmin AutoNav kit to clip into this set up (and then have the beanbag for use in rental cars or your second car).

I've been using this arrangement for several weeks now and am very pleased with it. You can see some low-res pics at http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25650&highlight=proclip
