Up until recently activesynce has been fine but have now got "Attention Required" against inbox, calender, tasks and contacts.
Does anyone have any idea what attention and where? Active sync gives no help at all.

This happened to me 2 days ago and after many hours with tech support I reinstalled my OS. It worked. Your might want to wait a few days and see if anyone else can help.

Thanks for the reply - did you reinstall your PC OS? I have tried hard resets on the ipaq but no joy. It seems as though activesync just can't see outlook.

I got my system a couple days ago and in the process of messing around with it, my inbox kept giving me a "cannot resolve" error. (I forget specifically). Of course doing what the program suggested didn't work. What I did was delete the relationship and recreate it. After that it worked fine.

Yeah i reinstalled my PC OS. I tried just about everything, reinstalling activsync, and outlook didn't work. Make sure that you install outlook first if you do start from scratch.

Thanks again, but I managed to sort it out without having to resort to such drastic measures.
Somehow mapi32.dll in the windows sytem folder had become corrupt or damaged so I just copied a backed up copy of it back in. It all works great now. Apparently mapi32.dll is the link library that allows other applications to call on outlook but reinstalling outlook doesn't fix it.
Meanwhile I am still waiting for Compaq technical support to call back............................
