Hi,
Just received my new PC with Windows XP. Installed MochaPPP on it, configured it for Windows CE and tried it with my 5mx (unchanged with respect to previous settings with W95). No connection (timed out). The icon on the Mocha program did not show any connection either.
Is this a common problem for Windows XP? What can I do?

Peter

Hi Peter
MochaPPP *should* work fine with WinXP. Since you've used it before you obviously know how to set it up. In my experience it works swiftly and reliably with XP.
The WinCE setting is the correct one to use - have you checked that the baud rate is 115200 and the COM port correct? Also check that you have completely exited from PsiWin and anything else which may have a claim on the COM port, and that the Psion desktop link is set to OFF.
Sorry to state the obvious, but I'm not really sure what else to suggest!
The only thing I would say is that once an attempt to connect has failed, you should make sure the Psion is disconnected (with Ctrl+U) and also exit Mocha and relaunch it before trying again, otherwise a further attempt will be futile.
Let us know how you get on.

What can I do?I don't know what the problem is but what I would do is:
1) If you haven't already done so, delete the PsiWin shortcut from the 'Startup' folder so it doesn't automatically launch when the PC boots.
2) Uninstall and reinstall MochaPPP.
3) Delete the MochaPPP configurations in Control Panel / Modems and CP / Internet, perform a 'soft' reset for good measure and set up these up again. There are instructions for setting it up on my page at MochaPPP (http://tinyurl.com/on01) if you need them.

Dear Julie and Mike,
Thanks. I followed your advices and it works now. It appears that once the PsiWin connection server has been activated and although closed again, MochaPPP doesn't work any more until I reboot the PC.
To close the PsiWin connection server, I closed CopyAnywhere and the connection icons on the task bark in the right corner below. Do I have to close something else I am not aware of?

Do I have to close something else I am not aware of? I don't believe so but, as I said, I prefer not to have PsiWin launching automatically to start with. There is absolutely no need for it to be running each time the PC boots.
Double clicking "My Psion" on the desktop or highlighting "My Psion" in Windows Explorer launches it when needed.
