Hard Reset Problem

When i do a hard resest, it doesn't work, it only does a normal reset. I hold the reset button down for like a minute and it only does normal reset. is there something speical i need to do for a hard resest, i need hlep

You have to hold down the power button as well as the reset button at the same time!
